Director (Technical Coordination)
One of the Directors of NCA is looking after the work of Director (TC). He is responsible to consolidate the information from various wings for preparation of reports, progress, replies to the Parliament Questions and VIP references. Director (TC) submits the aforesaid cases and the cases dealing with administrative matters to Member (Civil) of NCA.
Deputy Director (Adm)
Deputy Director (Adm), NCA is the middle level officer for dealing (i) Establishment & administrative matters including filling up of various posts, (ii) Cadre management of various grades / posts, (iii) Constitution of Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) relating to appointments, promotion and confirmation of officials in different grades and posts, (iv) Coordinating furnishing of information relating to the Parliament Questions, VIP references etc. (v) Court cases on administrative matters.
DD(Adm) has also been designated as Head of the Office particularly, for according sanction on routine establishment matters viz. advances to staff, medical claims etc. DD(Adm) reports to Director (TC).
Asst. Public Relations Officer
APRO, NCA looks after the maintenance of NCA
website, downloading and uploading of NCA Tenders etc and all the works
related with Right to Information Act, as Assistant Public Information Officer
of NCA.
Administrative Officer
Administrative Officer is the junior most officer in the administration section to whom all the matters related to administration and establishment are put up by the concerned Assistants, he/she shall examine all the cases in detail and put up to DD(A) for further necessary action as deem fit. She is also designated as Record Officer and is responsible for maintenance of the records etc. properly. She is also the Chairman of the Complaints Committee to consider the complaints of women employees of NCA.
Finance Wing
Director (Finance)
Overall in-charge of the Finance Section of NCA. The Annual Accounts of NCA and its Budget are required to be prepared under his overall supervision and guidance. He is assisted by Deputy Finance Officer and Accounts Officer. He is responsible for monitoring the fund position of NCA and the contributions from the State Governments from time to time. He is required to submit all the papers to Executive Member, NCA through Member (Power) for approval etc.
Deputy Finance Officer
To supervise the works of Accounts in general. He is also designated as Drawing & Disbursing Officer for passing and payment of bills. The bills shall be passed and paid by him on verification of due approvals in each case.
Accounts Officer
Checking of all staff financial claims of the staff of NCA viz. medical bills, TA bills, other payments etc. checking of contracts / suppliers bills - imprest accounts etc. - compilation of monthly account - bank reconciliation statements and trial balance - preparation of Annual Accounts of NCA and NCA Budget. He shall submit all the cases to DFO for further necessary action.

Chief Engineer
Office of the Chief Engineer, NCA was established for overall supervision and implementation of the following works:
(i) Establishment of Real Time Data Acquisition System (RTDAS) in Narmada Basin for reservoir operation and flood forecasting.
(ii) Monitoring of projects, particularly Sardar Sarovar Project (Unit-II) Canals and Indira Sagar Project.
(iii) Preparation of Annual Water Account for Narmada covering flows of Narmada, storage in reservoirs, utilization for various purposes.
Chief Engineer, NCA is overall in-charge of these works and work under the general guidance / supervision of Member (Civil), NCA. He is also responsible for management of all the contracts in connection with the above works and also for providing security to various offices of NCA. The Regional Offices of NCA located at Bhopal & Vadodara and the Liaison Office of NCA are also placed under his charge.
The matters related to (i) construction of office complex of NCA (being constructed by Central Public Works Department as a 'deposit work'), (ii) Maintenance of real estates of NCA, (iii) leasing of premises for NCA, whenever required are also put under the charge of Chief Engineer, NCA.
Director (Hydrology)
He will be system manager for the Real Time Data Acquisition System (RTDAS) being installed in the Narmada basin. He will be responsible for hydrological observations / hydrological studies / data analysis and flood forecasting studies. He will also be responsible for software development related to the above activities.
Director (Telemetry)
He is responsible for the communication aspects of the Real Time Data Acquisition System (RTDAS) of NCA which is being established by M/s ECIL. He also assists the Chief Engineer, NCA in management of the contract with M/s ECIL for implementation of RTDAS project.
Director (Civil)
The officer is in-charge of all the civil engineering related matters dealt in the O/o Chief Engineer, NCA. He is also in-charge of the house keeping, procurement and running & maintenance of vehicles in the O/o the Chief Engineer, NCA. The Building section of NCA which looks after the maintenance of NCA staff quarters and construction aspects of Office complex of NCA being constructed by Central Public Works Department as a deposit work is also placed under him.
Deputy Director (Building)
He is responsible for the maintenance of NCA staff quarters, related procurement and construction of Office complex of NCA being constructed by Central Public Works Department as a deposit work. He is also designated as Security Officer for NCA and looks after the implementation of the contract with the security agency which deploys security guards / workman for NCA.
Deputy Director (Civil)
DD(Civil) in the office of the Chief Engineer, NCA is entrusted with the works related to software development and hydrological studies. He shall report to Director (Hydrology) in normal course. In the absence of Director (Hydrology) he is looking after these works directly or through any other Director nominated by the Chief Engineer. The Hydromet Sub-division, Indore is also under his charge.
Regional Office, Bhopal
Superintending Engineer
He is responsible for carrying out all the works allotted to regional Office, Bhopal viz. implementation of Real Time Data Acquisition System (RTDAS) project in Upper and Middle Narmada zone, preparation of Annual Water Account, collection & compilation of hydro-meteorological data and project statistics for major & medium projects from various agencies.
Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil)
AEE(C), Bhopal is responsible for collection and compilation of hydro meteorological data in Narmada basin from various Central / State organizations and preparation of the Annual Water Account of Narmada basin on year to year basis. The Annual Water Account is made from July to June of each year.
Assistant Engineer (Civil)
To render assistance to S.E. in the works related to Real Time Data Acquisition System (RTDAS), in finalisation of Annual Water Account and in other day to day office works.
Regional Office, Vadodara
Director (Civil)
The monitoring of Unit-II : Canals of the Sardar Sarovar Project with a view to obtaining expeditiously optimum benefits during & after completion of the project in terms of the Clause-9(3)(ii) of Narmada Water Scheme is being looked after by the NCA office at Vadodara. This office also coordinates with the Govt. of Gujarat in all the project related matters of Sardar Sarovar Project. The NCA office, Vadodara is under Director (Civil) who is incharge for all these works. In the absence of regular Director (Civil), Vadodara his duties are being looked after by Director (Civil) in the O/o the Chief Engineer, NCA, Indore.
Deputy Director (Civil)
He is to assist the Director (Civil) in carrying out the monitoring of the construction of Unit-II; Canals of Sardar Sarovar Project and prepare Half Yearly Status Reports. He shall also coordinate with the Govt. of Gujarat for project related matters. The RTDAS station of NCA at Vadodara is also under his charge.
Hydromet Sub-division, Mandla
Assistant Engineer
AE(HMSD), Mandla is incharge of the Hydromet Sub-division at Mandla and is responsible for looking after the monitoring of the implementation of Real Time Data Acquisition System project in the Upper reaches of the river Narmada.
Hydromet Sub-division, Hoshangabad
Assistant Engineer
A.E.(HMSD), Hoshangabad is incharge of the Hydromet Sub-division at Hoshangabad and is responsible for looking after the monitoring of the implementation of Real Time Data Acquisition System project in the Middle reaches of the river Narmada.
Hydromet Sub-division, Indore
Assistant Engineer
A.E.(HMSD), Indore is incharge of the Hydromet Sub-division at Indore and is responsible for looking after the monitoring of the implementation of Real Time Data Acquisition System project in the lower reaches of the river Narmada.
Liaison Office, New Delhi
Liaison Officer
He is required to coordinate with all the Central Ministries / departments and with the liaison units of State Governments of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan located in New Delhi for expediting the issues referred to these departments. He is also responsible for arranging the NCA meetings and meeting of other Sub-Groups/ Committees to be held in New Delhi.
Power Wing
S.E.(EMC) / Director (Power)
Director (Power) is incharge of the Technical Secretariat of the Power Wing and S.E.(EMC) is incharge of Energy Management Center, Indore. They assist Member (Power) in matters related to the meetings of NCA, SSCAC, PSC of SSCAC, Power Sub-committee, Tariff & Energy Accounting Sub-committee, SSRRC, RBPH
Monitoring Team & Standing Committee on Power System Planning of Western
Region - Planning and scheduling of generation at SSP complex based on the inflows and water requirement of Govt. of Gujarat, releases from ISP - Formulation of long term and short term programme and maintenance schedule of SSP power units- Monitoring of power component of SSP complex as stipulated in the NWDT Award - Overall incharge of computer center and associated equipment installed under the EMC project - Responsible for round the clock shift operations at EMC and the maintenance of all the equipment.
Deputy Director (Power) / Executive Engineer (EMC)
To render assistance to SE(EMC) / Director (Power) in the activities related to (i) shift operations at EMC Control Room and monitoring of generation of power at SSP and its distribution as per the NWDT Award based on schedule and/or based on the directions of WRLDC, (ii) to ensure proper metering arrangements and energy accounting of SSP complex in coordination with WREB, (iii) directions to shift engineers for O&M of SSP complex in coordination with WRLDC, (iv) incharge of maintenance of computers at EMC, Indore, WRLDC. Mumbai and the RTU (under installation) and SEMs at SSP, Kevadia and the maintenance of auxiliary system viz. AC supply, UPS, Battery lighting, diesel set of EMC.
Assistant Executive Engineer / Assistant Engineer (EMC)
To render assistance to Executive Engineer (EMC) in discharging functions related to Energy Management Center of NCA and guidance to Junior Engineers and other technical staff in shift operation and maintenance of EMC.
Environment & Rehabilitation Wing
Director (Environment)
He is to assist Member (E&R) in all the matters related to the Environment aspects, meetings of Environment Sub-groups of NCA and other related Sub-committees viz. preparation of agenda / minutes for the meetings, follow up actions on the decisions and to oversee compliance of the decisions taken by the Sub-group by the party States. He shall undertake field inspections from time to time for maintenance of database, for preparation of status reports and for physical verification of implementation of environment safeguard measures by the party states. Director (Env.) shall report to Member (E&R).
Deputy Director (Environment)
He is the junior most officer in the Environment Wing to initiate the cases and assist the Director (Env.) in all the works assigned to him from time to time. He also undertakes the field visits from time to time for collection of data, physical verification of implementation of safeguard measures by the party States, in connection with the preparation of Status Reports.
Director (Impact Assessment & Rehabilitation)
He is to assist Member (E&R) in all the matters related to the R&R aspects of SSP, meetings of R&R Sub-group of NCA and other related Sub-committees viz. preparation of agenda / minutes for the meetings, follow up of actions on the decisions and to ensure compliance of the decisions taken by the Sub-group by the party States. He shall undertake field inspections from time to time for maintenance of database, for preparation of status reports and for physical verification of implementation of the R&R of the Project Affected Persons (PAFs) in the States of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh due to construction of Sardar Sarovar Dam. He shall also attend the consultations with the Grievance Redressal Authority established by the party State Governments to redress the grievances of PAPs in connection with their resettlement & rehabilitation.
Deputy Director (Rehabilitation)
DD(R) is the junior most officer in the R&R Wing to initiate the cases and assist the Director (IA&R) in all the works assigned to him from time to time - to undertake the field visits for collection of data, for physical verification of progress on implementation of resettlement & rehabilitation measures by the party States - preparation of Status Reports etc. The workload in R&R section is divided among the
three Deputy Directors and all of these officers report to Director (IA&R) who in turn reports to Member (E&R).

Deputy Director (Liaison)
He is incharge of house keeping of NCA offices, procurement of office equipment, furniture, stationery etc. He is also incharge of running & maintenance of vehicles in NCA. His jurisdiction is, however, restricted to the offices other than the office of the Chief Engineer, NCA where another officer looks after these works.
